Today is 314 days since our loss. 313 Days since an RXO representative came to my house and acknowledged that the installation caused the damage. It's been about 10 months since RXO wrote us a check for just about 5% of our damages as a partial payment. It's been about 8 months since RXO/Costco made us an offer to accept a $500k personal loss to settle the damage that they caused. And they do nothing.
We have provided them with 4 months of unimpeded access to our house, receipts, professional estimates, and itemized damage reports. We have hired professionals to guide us along the way, to ensure that our home and belongings were salvaged where they could be and remediated otherwise. We have agreed to a mediation which went nowhere. Now we have incurred costs in filing a lawsuit against Costco / RXO to recoup our damages. They remain deafeningly silent.
Think long and hard before buying any appliance from Costco or any other retailer in which RXO is the installer. A quick online search returns results that RXO installs appliances for Costco, Walmart, LG amongst others. They sent an uninsured installer to my home who caused significant damage. I have exhausted just about every effort to recoup those fees while they stay unresponsive - even after accepting fault. Do not put yourself through this. Buy local, have it installed locally.
